Dreams and Nightmares - Study Day At The Higgins Bedford

Artists have always been fascinated by the images they see in their dreams. Dreams can be delightful and reassuring, but they can also be unsettling, even terrifying. Explore the theme of Dreams and Nightmares in art with talks by exhibition co–curators Victoria Partridge and Professor Christiana Payne, as well as Dr David Boyd Haycock, curator at Dulwich Picture Gallery, and Dr Nicholas Tromans, former curator of the Watts Gallery.

Lunch and refreshments are provided.

Artists have always been fascinated by the images they see in their dreams, using them as inspiration for their paintings and drawings. Dreams can be delightful and reassuring, but they can also be unsettling, even terrifying. 

Explore the theme of Dreams and Nightmares in art with talks by exhibition co–curators Victoria Partridge and Professor Christiana Payne, as well as Dr David Boyd Haycock, curator at Dulwich Picture Gallery, and Dr Nicholas Tromans, former curator of the Watts Gallery.

There will be time at the end of the day to visit the Dreams and Nightmares exhibition, featuring artworks by William Blake, JMW Turner and Edward Bawden.
