BDAW is Bedford’s first event dedicated to raising awareness of the disabled community to the wider population, as well as the support and organisations that are available to help. BDAW also aims to celebrate the talent and creativity within the community.

Paralympian Stephen Cooper who won a bronze medal in the T38 800m and a silver medal as part of the 4×100m team in the 2000 and 2004 Paralympics is also taking part and will be sharing his own story to help people see a different side to disabilities.

There will also be a daily experience table that offers the chance to experience the challenges of certain disabilities, including various sight conditions, hearing impairment, doing daily tasks with one hand and being pushed in a wheelchair.
