Salon supports children's charity

Two 15-year-olds proved they were a pair of princesses when they each had more than six inches lopped from their locks to donate the tresses to charity.

Mimi Brewster, a student of Bedford Modern School, and Lily-Maie Wilson, who attends Sharnbrook Upper, helped to raise more than £650 for the charity – as well as donating their hair for wigs for children to www.littleprincesses.org.uk

The girls, who play netball together, had the big chop at 5th Avenue Hair Salon in Howard Street, Bedford under the watchful eye of owner Kerry Cash.

She said: “We made sure the girls looked even more beautiful when they left here after a professional cut by a two of our top stylists. It was a scary sacrifice for 15-year-olds to make and we were proud to help them complete the task.”
