Help for Tavistock Street

Published on 09 March 2016

Visitors to Bedford may be aware that part of Tavistock Street is to be closed from February 22nd  for 14 weeks  - but diversions will be in place to ease getting into town from the North.

The stretch which will be closed is between Queen Street and The Broadway.

Businesses will be open as usual where possible - Love Bedford Bluecaps have been visiting those affected in the BID zone area to make sure they have plans in place for the period.

Christina Rowe Director of BedfordBID said: “As soon as we heard about this our Bluecaps were out and about making sure that businesses had seen and understood letters sent out from the council about this closure, as many will have to make special arrangements for staff and visitors.

“We hope that our loyal town centre customers who come into town down the A6 from North Beds will note that we are still open for business.”
