Action for homeless

Published on 21 March 2017

Bedford Borough Council has announced it has won a bid for £623,000 for a Rough Sleeper Street Outreach Service. This news will be welcomed by businesses who are aware of the issues raise by people begging or “squatting” in the town centre.

The BID Board had been lobbying for something to be done and had been instrumental in bringing together charities and other agencies. It produced a guide to help available to the homeless and how to take action in 2016 which was widely shared.
