Oasis Beach Pool is a leisure facility located in Bedford, reopened in May 2024 following a refurbishment funded by Bedford Borough Council. The investment included upgrades to the building’s heating and cooling systems, redecoration, and improvements to customer facilities.
The centre features a distinctive indoor leisure pool which includes flume slides, a lazy river, a small pool for children, and a jacuzzi. The facility’s tropical-themed environment aims to create a family-friendly experience suitable for all ages. A new party room and catering service were also introduced as part of the refurbishment.
Although primarily focused on leisure swimming, the centre also hosts swim sessions suitable for casual swimmers, alongside a range of inclusive activities. Facilities include accessible changing areas and toilets, step-free access, and poolside equipment to support visitors with disabilities or limited mobility.
Managed by Better, the public-facing brand of charitable social enterprise Greenwich Leisure Ltd (GLL), Oasis Beach Pool is part of the wider Bedford Borough leisure network. GLL focuses on delivering affordable and inclusive access to sport and fitness facilities.
Oasis Beach Pool is open from 10am to 7pm on weekdays, 9am to 6pm on Saturdays and from 9am to 5pm on Sundays. Swimming sessions, fitness classes, and gym access can be booked online via the Better website or app.
Operated in partnership with Bedford Borough Council, Oasis Beach Pool has been a longstanding community asset. Unfortunately despite the previous refurbishments made, Bedford Borough Council formally placed the Oasis Beach Pool site on the market in September 2025, seeking a long‑term investor or operator to acquire and regenerate the venue under a long leasehold arrangement.
