Come to Bedford town centre on Armed Forces Day, when there will be a parade of different serving, reservists, veterans and charities, with stalls, activities and military vehicles.

Bedford Borough Council will be granting the Command the esteemed and prestigious right of Freedom of Entry to the Borough to the United Kingdom Strategic Command, Chicksands, allowing its personnel to march through the streets of the town centre on ceremonial occasions with colours flying, bands playing, drums beating, and bayonets fixed! Mayor Tom Wootton says: “This is the first Freedom of the Borough of its type ever bestowed by Bedford Borough Council. Therefore, the parade is a very special occasion and I encourage everyone to come and join the troops’ celebration by lining the streets to cheer them along their way.”

The Musical performances in Harpur Square are sponsored by BedfordBID/Love Bedford. Look out for May Blossom Vintage Songbird, Lissie Allsopp, Ampthill Town Band and more to be confirmed.
