The Bedford Repair Cafe at The Harpur Suite

For those toys or gadgets which are no longer working, why not drop in to see the friendly volunteers at Bedford Repair Café to see if they can help you to bring it back to life.

If not, any old electrical toys that the kids have grown out of can be donated to your local charity shop, or can be advertised on giving sites such as Freegle or Freecycle to pass them onto a new home for FREE.

NOTE!

If you have received lots of new gadgets for Christmas, or need to replace an electrical item with a new one, remember that any items that have a plug, use batteries, need charging, or have a picture of a crossed-out wheelie bin on, are known as ‘Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE)’ and should be recycled instead of binned as these items can ignite or explode. These items should not be put in any of your household bins. Instead please take items to the Household Waste Recycling Centre on Barkers Lane, or recycle them via an electrical retailer.
