Bedford Borough Council is proud to present Music in The Meadows 2026, a vibrant series of free live music concerts held every Sunday in August at the picturesque Mill Meadows Bandstand. Come along and bring the family, a picnic and some seating, and enjoy an afternoon of live traditional bandstand music, from jazz to brass ensembles.
Event schedule:
- 2nd August – Bedford Town Band from 3-5pm
- 9th August – May Blossom Vintage Songbird from 3-5pm
- 16th August – Fynnius Fog from 2-5pm
- 23rd August – South Beds Concert Band from 3-5pm
All performances run 3-5pm (except Fynnius Fogg, performing 2-5pm). Attendees are encouraged to bring picnics and seating, with limited deckchairs available on site. For the convenience of visitors, a portable toilet will also be provided at the event.
About the Bands:
- Bedford Town Band is a well-established community brass band that brings musicians together to perform a wide range of music and support local events throughout the Bedford area.
- May Blossom, Vintage Songbird brings nostalgic charm with her vintage-style vocals, performing classic songs from around 1900 to the mid 1960s and wartime songs that resonate with Bedford’s musical heritage.
- Fynnius Fogg, a legendary 1970s pop and rock band from Bedford, reunites to support local causes with their timeless hits, demonstrating Bedford’s enduring musical spirit.
- South Beds Concert Band is a vibrant community ensemble that provides musicians of all ages and abilities with opportunities to perform diverse concert repertoire and engage with audiences across the region.
