Saturday Workshops with special focus on Jane Austen

On Saturday 15th November 2025, the Rothsay Education Centre is hosting an array of workshops celebrating history, literature, and creativity, with a special focus on Jane Austen. We offer a vibrant space where adults can explore new ideas, develop skills, and meet like-minded individuals. Our Saturday workshops are open too all non members to come and discover a place to learn.

Jane Austen and the Art of Motherhood – 10am – 11am with Joanna Woolfarth 

The Dreyfus Affair (1894-1906) and the Polarisation of France – 10am – 12pm with Frank Livesey

Sanditon – 10am – 12pm with Gary Day

Britain During the Lifetime of Jane Austen – 10am – 1pm with Alan Marchant

Regency Garden Sampler – A Slow Stitch Creative Session – 10am – 12.30pm with Donna Davies

Jane Austen’s Birthday Party – 1pm – 3pm with Margaret Norwich

A Stitch in Time – Jane Austen Bookmark Embroidery – 1pm – 1.30pm with Donna Davies

Landscape as Character and Setting in Novels of Jane Austen/Regency Gardens – 10am – 3pm with Twigs Way

Creative Writing: Find Your Writing ‘Voice’, with Help from Jane Austen – 10am – 3.30pm – with Poppy Holman

Portraits of an Era: The Art of Identity in Jane Austen’s England – 10am – 3.30pm – Emily Hay
