Bedford Borough Council has announced the successful completion and unveiling of a new renewable energy project: an 84kW solar photovoltaic (PV) array paired with a 69kW battery storage system installed on the rooftop of Queen Street Multi-storey Car Park. The installation, comprising 188 solar panels, has already reduced the car park’s electricity consumption by over 50% in March 2025 alone, marking a significant step towards the council’s target of net zero carbon emissions by 2030.
