Science Lab

The Higgins Bedford

Come and enjoy a range of free science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) activities for families.

Little Science Lab, Ready Steady Roll, The Good Life Garden, Bedfordshire Geology Group and others will be providing activities for all the family throughout the day that include dry-ice experiments, table-top games, and exploring geology.

All activities are free and many are suitable for under fives, however, the Dry Ice workshops and Get Growing workshops must be booked in advance. This event is supported using public funding by Arts Council England and UK Government Powered by Levelling Up.

The Norman Conquest of Britain witnessed the introduction of castles to the landscape and a major castle in Bedford was built in the 12th century. Walk through the old castle grounds, see the mound on which it once stood and hear the story of the castle and its demise in the siege of 1224.
