What is Bedford Central Library?

Bedford Central Library is a large, vibrant, public library conveniently located in the centre of Bedford. The library offers a wide range of books, magazines, CDs, DVDs and spoken word for customers of all ages to borrow.

Internet and wifi access is available as well as study space, and local and family history information. Regular events for children, families and adults are held in the library. There is also a warm and sunny cafe which looks over Harpur Square and the town centre.

LibraryPlus, your self-service library, is now available at Bedford Central Library. It provides you with extra choice and flexibility in how you use your libraries through extended opening times, with a mixture of staffed and self-service hours.

Monday to Friday 11am-4pm

Saturday 10am-5pm

Sunday 11am-2pm

Christmas opening times: Closed 25th December, 26th December and 1st January.
