Mastroe

What is Mastroe?

Mastroe is a social enterprise providing free or affordable training for adults and young people, disadvantaged groups and long-term unemployed individuals.

They provide a combination of work-based training, mentoring and practical work experience. Mastroe focusses on key development areas based on the needs of prospective employers and the gaps displayed by individuals/potential employees. There are training programmes for a range of skills, such as creative, IT and enterprise, vocational, development and work preparation. Volunteering opportunities are also available if training programmes are full. Volunteers can learn practical skills and gain work experience by engaging in tasks and activities within Mastroe then enrol on training programmes when vacancies arise.

Mastroe is able to continue their training and services through funding, donations and support from a variety of organisations. These include Bedford House of Industry, The Home Office, Bedfordshire Police and Crime Commissioner, The Harpur Trust, and The Violence and Exploitation Reduction Unit.

The public are also able to support Mastroe through Mastroe Print and Photography. Mastroe Print produces promotional merchandise, cards, stationery, signs and banners. Their printing is high quality and low cost, with quantity discounts available on some items. Mastroe Photography provides photographers for functions and events, as well as offering professional photography in our studio which is also available to hire.
