Bedford Borough Council celebrates Great Big Green Week 2025

Bedford Borough Council has announced a vibrant schedule of events for Great Big Green Week 2025, running from Saturday 7th June through Sunday 15th June. This year’s programme offers residents and visitors a wide range of engaging activities designed to celebrate nature, promote sustainability, and encourage community participation in environmental conservation.

Workshops at The Higgins Bedford on Saturday 14th June include beginner-friendly bird identification, smartphone photography and nature walk, and creating nature-inspired clay mementos.

There’s also the opportunity to craft stick dolls from upcycled materials and sensory crafts and play activities for children aged 8 and under, exploring ladybirds and caterpillars.

Learn about the new Felmersham nature reserve, meet experts and discover local biodiversity with the Bedfordshire Natural History Society and find a bargain at the plant stall.

Activities at other venues include a ‘Craft Stash Swap’ at the Panacea Museum and a range of workshops at the John Bunyan Museum. There’s also Yoga and Wellbeing in Bedford Park on Sunday 8th June and community gardening and litter picks in at Addison Howard Park, Kempston, and some local libraries will have plant swaps and bicycle servicing.
