On Saturday November 23rd, BedfordBID collaborates with Bedford Borough Council to bring you Bedford Town Centre Christmas Lights Switch On!
Make an afternoon of it and enjoy the family festivities on offer from 12noon. FREE Crazy Golf takes place on Silver Square with fun and laughs for all. Everybody say ‘cheese’! Head to the Love Bedford Christmas Wreath on Silver Square to take selfies with friends and family.
The Saturday market, Christmas edition, will take place along Silver Street until 7pm.
Remember to keep a look out for Santa! The jolly man himself will make an appearance in the Harpur Centre!
And from 12noon the Love Bedford Stage in Harpur Square will also come alive, with a wonderful selection of live performances from local bands, singers, school choirs and dancers.
At 4pm the wonderful songstress Lissie Allsopp takes to the stage with a collection of Christmas favourites to get us all in the festive mood.
At 5pm it’s time for Mayor Tom Wootton to press the button and illuminate Bedford. Lissie then leads us in a sing-along to some favourite Christmas tunes. And to keep the party going, local radio presenter Steven Gordon-Wilson takes over to spin some classic Christmas tunes to get you “rockin’ around the Christmas tree”!
