Herrings Green Activity Farm & Bird of Prey Centre, located on Cotton End Road in Wilstead, Bedfordshire, is one of the UK’s largest and most respected bird of prey centres. Family-run and set in the countryside, it offers a mix of wildlife education and hands-on experiences, making it a popular place for families, schools, and animal enthusiasts.
The centre is home to more than 200 birds of prey, including owls, eagles, hawks and falcons, as well as a wide variety of friendly farm animals such as goats, alpacas, rabbits, and guinea pigs. You can explore the creepy critters like the cockroaches and tortoises and there is also a mini golf course, tyre run, ride along cars, playgrounds and tractor rides (weather permitting).
Visitors can take a pause during their day at Maggie’s Tea Room which provides a full range of refreshments including sandwiches, freshly made cakes and hot drinks.
Also, just inside the entrance is their well-stocked gift shop, where you’ll find ice creams and sweet treats as well as cuddly toys, keyrings and other small mementos to remember your visit. The staff there are on hand to welcome you, book your day’s activities and provide helpful information.

Daily programmes include spectacular bird flying displays, animal feeding and handling sessions and craft activities for children. Additionally, a beautifully converted barn called The Stables is set within the grounds of the farm which is available for hire for weddings, parties, meetings, celebrations and other events,
