Bedford Rivercare Clean Up

Bedford Borough Council is inviting local residents to take part in a community Rivercare Clean-Up on Saturday 21st March, 10am–12pm.

The session will focus on the riverside area near the Suspension Bridge along The Embankment. Volunteers will help with litter picking along the banks, supported by kayakers on the water and scuba divers from the Bedford Scuba Divers Club and Dive with Jimmy. The Environment Agency will also be on hand to assist.

What to expect:

  • All litter-picking equipment provided (feel free to bring your own if preferred)
  • Support from local clubs and volunteers
  • Refreshments from The John Bunyan Boat, moored at Mill Meadows
  • A complimentary tea or Americano for volunteers visiting The Longholme during the event
  • Free parking at Bedford Borough Hall car park or Mill Meadows Car Park

How to take part:
Simply come along at 10am, dressed for the weather in suitable clothing and sturdy footwear, and meet by the Suspension Bridge. Children are welcome but must be accompanied by an adult.
