On Saturday 17th February it’s Random Acts of Kindness Day. It’s a day where you can surprise someone you know and love, someone who brings something special to your life, or someone who might not know how much you care. Maybe it’s an outdoor community space you think needs a bit of a spruce up, a neighbour you keep meaning to have a chat to, or a charity you might want to help out. There are many reasons to show kindness and care so have a think and make it a date.

Here are some ideas to get you started:

  • The Kings Arms Project on Harpur Street are always looking for volunteers so get in touch if you’d like to be involved.
  • Visit an elderly relative or neighbour for a friendly hello or to take a gift of a mini (or maxi!) hamper of food from Bedford markets, or flowers from Daisy May Florists.
  • Grab a friend and head to the The Fitness Collective for that gym session you’ve been meaning to start. Afterwards you can head to one of the many cafes for lunch or refreshments.
  • Maybe you’d just like to tidy things up! Contact Bedford Borough Council to find out more about litter picking and they’ll show you the way.
  • Love Bedford Gift Vouchers are always a winner. Redeemable in over 200 businesses in the town centre, enjoy a meal, morning or afternoon tea, visit a museum or catch a show! Purchase them at Lotus Store on Castle Lane, Michael R Peters on The Broadway or online

If you’re getting involved in Random Acts of Kindness Day we’d love you to share with us on our social media pages. Now all you have to decide what to do…..
