Francis Poulenc and Carl Orff showcase their distinctive musical styles in these contrasting 20th century works. Poulenc’s Gloria, based on the traditional Latin text from the Mass, and Orff’s libretto from secular poetry of the 11th to 13th centuries are both rhythmically driven, dramatically scored and emotionally charged. The result will be an exciting combination of chorus, soloists and orchestra.
