– a delightful series of nature-based events in Bedford Town Centre
Over the month of August families are invited to drop into four FUN & FREE nature-based craft and play sessions where they can expect to decorate wings and crowns, make bird feeders and bug hotels, play outdoor games, do some drawing and more!
Nature’s Playground:
- 10am – 1pm
- 8th & 9th, 16th & 17th August
- Silver Square, Bedford Town Centre
Thurs 8th & Fri 9th August – Insect Wings & Bug Hotels
Fri 16th & Sat 17th – Forest Crowns & Bird Feeders
Plus each session will have outdoor games, potion-making, bubbles and drawing.
These delightful events are designed and delivered by a new collaborative partnership between Bedford residents Kaye Mahoney and Meg Oliver and are funded by Bedford Borough Council to ensure they are free for everyone to enjoy.
Cllr Andrea Spice said, Portfolio Holder for Economic Growth, Planning and Prosperity said:
“It’s wonderful to see the Town Centre Priority Fund supporting such an exciting event. From crafting
magical wings and crowns to building bird feeders and bug hotels, these sessions offer a fantastic
opportunity for families to unleash their creativity and connect with nature.”
Kaye and Meg met last year at the pop-up arts venue run by Pride of Place Bedford and have since
collaborated together on sessions for the early years’ creative arts club (Puggle Club) at The Higgins.
They say:
“We are delighted to be able to offer these nature-based sessions to children and their grown-ups
under the beautiful trees of Harpur Square. It will be a lovely opportunity for families to stop by and
create and play together in the heart of Bedford Town Centre.”
Kaye Mahoney is a Creative Arts Producer and Performer (who is also known as Kaye Leidoskope) who
