Bedford Borough Libraries are delighted to announce Love Libraries Month, a month-long celebration of books, reading and libraries throughout February. There will be events for all age groups as well as the opportunity to become a library member – membership is free for everyone!
Councillor Sarah Gallagher, Portfolio Holder for Leisure and Culture, expressed enthusiasm for the exciting programme of events, stating, “We’re thrilled to offer these vibrant events and activities for all ages during Love Libraries Month. Libraries are the heart of our communities, fostering a love of reading and providing access to knowledge and learning for everyone. Whether it’s experiencing the joy of reading, free access to computers and Wi-Fi, or one of the fantastic events, we have something for all our residents.”
“The school holiday events always prove popular and it’s wonderful to see so many exciting free craft activities available for families in our Bedford Borough Libraries.”
The month will feature author events for fiction lovers and family-friendly events for those with young children. Special Storytime sessions at Bedford Central Library for under-fives promise an engaging experience with stories, rhymes, themed activities, library hunts, and free sticker books. The beloved Bookstart Bear will also be making an appearance at some of these sessions.
Other than the storytime sessions, half-term crafts, and Llama Glamarama, all the events will need to be booked in advance and places are limited. Further details and how to book for the events can be found here. Please use the code HIGGINS30 to avoid booking fees. Tickets can also be booked at the Box Office on 01234 718044, or by speaking to library staff for further information and booking assistance. Activities taking place as part of Love Libraries Month are funded by the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.
