Bedford Borough Council announce grant to Citizens Advice Bedford

Bedford Borough Council has set out its plans to help residents through the cost-of-living crisis and today has announced a further £100,000 to Citizens Advice Bedford to provide additional debt and energy advice.

Dave Hodgson, Mayor of Bedford Borough said: “Bedford Borough Council are absolutely committed to making sure it does everything possible to help people through this winter and beyond.

“We have set aside this money to work with Citizens Advice Bedford to help provide the best support we can for those people who are struggling as a result of the national cost of living crisis.”

Gillian Grimes, Chief Executive of Citizens Advice Bedford said: “At Citizens Advice we are seeing more residents than ever coming to us experiencing real hardship because of the cost-of-living crisis, and we know that the situation for many is set to worsen.

“We’re delighted that Bedford Borough Council is supporting us to provide additional advice and support to local people who are struggling in the face of unprecedented price rises.”
