A successful project that helps local people start their own care and support businesses has been officially extended, thanks to ongoing funding from the UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF) and Bedford Borough Council.
The project, delivered by Community Catalysts, offers free, friendly support to anyone in Bedford Borough looking to work for themselves in a way that helps others, whether that’s providing companionship, helping people at home, or supporting those with additional needs.
The initiative is all about empowering and helping local people create and run small, sustainable enterprises that provide care and support in people’s homes and also those looking to offer community-based activities and groups for older adults and those with disabilities.
From personal care and companionship to wellness services and community groups, these enterprises make a meaningful difference in people’s lives.
This project forms part of the Council’s broader mission to support inclusive economic growth and encourage residents to shape the services they want to see in their communities.
The extension means that Community Catalysts can now reach even more areas and communities within Bedford Borough, with tailored support available for anyone interested in launching or growing their own service. This is a brilliant opportunity for anyone in Bedford who currently runs, or is thinking about starting, a group, activity, or care/support service. Community Catalysts offer free guidance, resources, and a friendly helping hand to get things off the ground.
