Independent Retailer Day took place over the first weekend of July – a celebration of businesses that are independently run or family owned. BedfordBID/Love Bedford extended the celebration over the month of July with a free prize draw.
With an outpouring of love for Bedford independent businesses, the many reasons customers voted for their favourite businesses are heart-warming and so encouraging in an era when town centres are evolving after Covid and the ‘normality’ of online shopping. We had so many nominations, voters and the most beautiful reviews, talking about new hobbies or interests people have found, new friends, safe places, friendly faces, a sanctuary, helpful, knowledgeable, amazing, beautiful, clean, professional, community-focussed…. Proving that online services definitely don’t compare to an in-person experience.
