Bedford Borough Council’s Sports Development team is pleased to announce the return of Yoga and Wellbeing in the Park on Sunday 8th June 2025, from 10am to 7pm at Bedford Park. It will be next to Bedford Pavilion, near Robinson Pools & Fitness. Now in its sixth year, this free event continues to be a highlight of Bedford Borough’s summer, offering a broad range of yoga and wellbeing sessions suitable for all ages and abilities.
This year’s festival is part of the Great Big Green Week, a national celebration of community action on climate and nature, reinforcing the importance of Bedford’s green spaces for health and wellbeing. The event features two activity zones with a diverse schedule of sessions led by fully qualified instructors, including Hatha Yoga, Vinyasa Flow, Chair Yoga, Qigong, Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), Laughter Yoga, Sound Bath Meditation, and mindful games for families. Sessions cater to various needs, including those with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), pregnant and postnatal participants, and anyone seeking gentle or more dynamic practices.
Councillor Sarah Gallagher, Portfolio Holder for Customer Experience, Leisure and Culture, said, “Yoga and Wellbeing in the Park offers a fantastic opportunity for people of all ages and abilities to come together, enjoy one of Bedford’s beautiful green spaces, and engage in activities that support both physical and mental health. This event helps foster a sense of community while encouraging everyone to connect with nature during Great Big Green Week.”
Yoga and Wellbeing in the Park is organised by Bedford Borough Council’s Sports Development Team and forms part of the wider Great Big Green Week programme celebrating community, health, and the environment.
