Festival Organiser Katherine Lilley issued this urgent appeal three months ago:
“Calling all branch members! YOUR FESTIVAL NEEDS YOU! Bedford Beer and Cider Festival is in grave danger. Unless we can get some more volunteers your Festival will die! We need people who will help assist in the planning and organising, or quite simply there will be no Festival! We do not have enough people to fill all the key roles. If you want your Festival to continue, please, please come and get involved.”
Although this appeal is less urgent since the decision to go ahead was confirmed, BBCF still needs volunteers to help plan and promote the event between now and October, especially if you have previous experience or relevant skills. There will be another appeal for volunteers to work behind the bar, the glasses counter and elsewhere during the Festival. If you would like to contribute in other ways or have good ideas for running a successful festival, please contact Katherine at beerfestival@northbeds.camra.org.uk.
